Jim Vanderberg
Jim Vanderberg, a Wisconsin native, made a name as a race car driver. His parents immigrated to Canada when they were children. His grandparents were candy makers in Eastern Europe. They used their skills to get to Canada. Once they settled in the country, they decided to start a business. The family purchased land with maple trees and began making maple sugar. This business eventually grew to be a major industry in Eastern Canada.
Jim Vandenberg enjoyed life. He was the past president of Williamsville Fire Department. He also served as a truck driver, pump operator, and he married Mary Gladstone Vandenberg, July 22, 2006. Jim and Mary enjoyed playing golf and traveling together. They often traveled to Branson, MO, and South Dakota. They enjoyed hunting trips and spent as much time as possible in the outdoors. Jim was a lifelong member the National Rifle Association (NRA). His grandchildren were his life, and he loved to watch them play games and watch movies.

They eventually sold the business, but Jim continues the family tradition by harvesting maple sap each year to make maple candy. Jim quit his corporate job in the 2020s to become a full-time maple syrup candy producer. Jim Vanderberg currently lives in Toronto, Canada.
